The association consists of those doctors who are doing Internship, Junior Residency (Post-graduation), Non-PG House-Job, Senior-Residency or Demonstratorship with PGIMS and Dental College Rohtak. The executive members are elected annually by a ballot system.

RDA has been the backbone of all the Residents and has been actively working for the welfare of doctors and the patients for a long time. RDA acquired a new dimension in its history since inception when it was registered under the Societies and Firms' Registration Act, 1860 on 13-2-1998.

Currently as of 2003, the RDA strength is about 550 doctors who work constructively to safeguard the interests of the profession and the patients and aim for advancement of Medical Science and Education.
